When storing furniture you should:

When storing precious and breakable items you should:

Put paper into empty, top and bottom spaces in carton.
Tip bowls, saucers and plates on their sides, and use a dish pack divider for enhanced security.
Wrap the items separately prior to storing in dish pack box.

When storing paper items such as books and files you should:

Place plastic sheeting on top of pallets to protect from moisture.

Tie down all doors and parts that are moveable.
Store items inside your larger appliances.

When storing clothing you should:

Use wardrobe boxes which allow you to store your clothing on hangers and save the shape of garments.
Leave smaller garments in drawers.

When storing kitchenware you should:

Cushion the space between each piece of kitchenware with newspaper.

When storing lamps you should:

Wrap both the shade and the base in bubble wrap and store in boxes.

When storing tools and gardening equipment you should:

Tie all long-handled tools together (i.e. hoes, shovels). Pack hammers and other small tools in boxes.
